Bone broth is rich in minerals, supports the immune system and is good for any part of the body that relates to collagen, such as joints, tendons, ligaments, teeth, cartilage and bone. If you’re looking for a detox this winter and/or want to include more bone broth into your life, try this recipe from Nourishing Traditions, explained on The Nourishing Cook.
If I am using bone broth as a nourishing food during a cleanse, I would drink a mug full whenever hunger strikes during the day. I also drink fennel tea and Sole (water with Himalayan salt) during the day, visit here for more info on the health benefits of salted water!) and my evening meal would consist of steamed non starchy vegatables, organic butter and your guessed it, more broth. I do this for three days and then transition back into a whole foods, traditional foods diet which for me is grain free and mostly meat, healthy fats and vegetables with a good dose of Bulletproof coffee (more on that later…)
